MEDICS Urology Clinic: Molesey Hospital

The MEDICS Urology GPSI clinic is held at Molesey Hospital in the High Street, East Molesey, KT8 0LU. It takes place on Tuesday afternoons between 14:00-17:00 and at present is once every 4 weeks. We are hoping to increase the frequency of the clinics as the demand increases.

We are able to see a wide variety of urology cases including patients with BPH, LUTS, suspected renal colic, recurrent urinary tract infections and testicular lumps. We are also able to see patients requesting a vasectomy. Our aim is to counsel these patients in the clinic then put directly onto a waiting list for the procedure if they still want to go ahead. We can also follow up these patients after they have had their investigations in the clinic. Some patients will be referred for flexible cystoscopy and others will be sent to Kingston Hospital for a prostate biopsy.

MEDICS Paediatrics Clinics started in February 2008 at Emberbrook Health Centre. The Clinic is held up every other Thursday from 1:30 pm to 5pm.

The Clinic is staffed by Michelle Omos, who works as a local health visitor, Dr Hazim Taki, a GP at Thorkhill Surgery in Thames Ditton with a special interest in paediatrics in addition to a Consultant Paediatrician from Kingston Hospital (Different consultants cover based on a rota system).

We have full access to a variety of hospital diagnostics including all pathology tests, RAST and Skin Prick tests, CT / MRI scan, XRs, USS, EEG and many other tests.

The service has benefited the patients by cutting down the waiting time; all new patients referred to The Emberbrook Clinic are seen within 4 weeks of referral.

MEDICS Gynaecology Clinic

The clinic runs on Wednesday mornings, on average 3 weeks out of 4 and is led by Mr Morris, with support from one of the GPs listed above. Full nurse support is provided. On-site ultrasound is provided, and appointments can usually be timed to enable scan and medical consultation during the same morning. More specialised investigations, including blood tests and radiology would be usually accessed via Kingston Hospital’s services, and surgical intervention would be provided on Mr Morris’ Day Surgical or In-Patient lists at Kingston Hospital or Cobham Day Surgery Unit.
