Contracts
MEDICS is a Specialised personal Medical Services organisation commissioned by Surrey Primary Care Trust. All people working within MEDICS are NHS employees.
The MEDICS contract provides financial support for the Gateway to inform the specialist care of patients referred from within its 8 member practices. It also provides for the administrative support necessary for the MEDICS services in practices. Ongoing performance against this contract is monitored using in-house computerised and statistical software and complimented by the NHS's own performance management system known as Clearnet.
MEDICS enters into contracts with other providers of care for the patients in its practices. These providers include NHS Trusts, GP practices, groups of NHS specialists working in chambers, General practitioners with special interests, extended scope practitioners, practitioners with special interests and private healthcare organisations.
